Interface provided electrical, lighting, security
and access, and telecommunications infrastructure
design for this new, two-story, 268,000 SF high
school. The systems were designed to allow the
building to operate at 40 percent greater efficiency
than a similar building designed to code. Specific
measures taken include lighting controls that
maximize the use of daylighting through a sophisticated
controls scheme, and design of a monitoring
and measuring system to record energy usage
for three different loads: the HVAC system,
the domestic hot water and pumping system, and
the lighting system. Interface also provided
design, technical specifications and construction
drawings for a new intrusion detection and access
control system capable of monitoring and controlling
access to the school. The system design includes
flexibility to accommodate future growth and
is compliant with current ANSI, IEEE and EIA/TIA
standards and with the school district’s
requirements.Interface commissioned all systems.
The project was Certified LEED® Silver.
