Residential Projects

Comfort, safety, livability, and a healthy environment are key in designing systems for residential facilities, regardless of whether the project is for a municipal housing authority or a private developer of high-end condominiums.  We have learned that the quality of indoor air and the volume of natural light used in a design are significant design elements required for meeting the goals of our clients.  On the high end of the spectrum, we have worked with Portland area developers on new, high-end condominium projects in the fast-growing Pearl District like the Gregory Lofts and Elizabeth Lofts, where energy efficiency and resident comfort are of the utmost importance.  Working with extreme climates is nothing new to our designers, either, as we provided full design services for the new Trendwest timeshare condominium tower in Seaside, Oregon, where the coastal climate and corrosive effects of salty air were key criteria in determining which systems would be employed.

Our teams have designed solutions to upgrade and improve facilities for the King County Housing Authority (KCHA) in the Seattle area, making residential developments better for their residents.  We are working with the Housing Authority of Portland (HAP) on a Hope VI funded development to revitalize an existing development, and have worked with HAP on past projects geared toward improving the quality of life for their residents.  With the Auburn Housing Authority in Washington, our design team was involved in the redevelopment of what had been a J.C. Penny building, turning it into a studio and one-bedroom apartment building for low income residents.  We also design a large number of senior housing and assisted living facilities, for private developers.
